Rather than completing a worksheet, have students complete an assignment on a website or app. Since students enjoy working on tablets, this could be a fun way for students to practice a new skill.
Now that doesn’t mean you give them worksheets everyday, all day. Think of it this way, what if your child loved candy as much as they loved doing worksheets and they wanted to eat candy all day long? Would you let them? Most likely not.
I go into a lot of detail about meaningful experiences in this post. Basically, a child needs to have a reason for learning the concept. Completing a worksheet is not a good enough reason for a child.
This window shows you exactly what will print. You will want to do this to make sure that everything you put on the worksheet will print out okay. This is an especially important step, if you have adjusted margins in any way.
Do you want to make it a word search puzzle with a secret message at the bottom of the worksheet to reinforce a lesson concept? Do you want it to be a multiple choice or fill-in-the-blank worksheet whereas students need to use their textbooks in order to answer the questions
Perhaps your school already has a license with a clipart company that allows them to use clipart on school documents. Check with the school secretary to see if this is something you can use on your worksheets. Simple copy and paste the images onto your worksheet where you would like

Providing activities that connect to real life gives children a reason to learn it. If you present a worksheet to a child and say “Read this so you can answer these questions.” Are they going to be motivated? Most likely not!
If your worksheet has a lot of color on it, then it will use up your printer ink pretty quickly. If your school does not have a color copier, then consider taking the worksheet to a quick copy place like Kinkos or Office Max to run the copies for you.
